Governor Janet Mills stood up to Donald Trump in February 2025, directly confronting him when he threatened to withhold federal funding from Maine over compliance issues. She responded, 'Good, I'll see you in court,' and later won the case, ensuring Maine's access to USDA funds.

Governor Mills expressed her determination to run for the U.S. Senate despite concerns about her age, stating, "I don't think I could live with myself if I didn't do everything I can to reverse what's going on in Washington. Things that are harming Maine people."

Addressing the economic challenges, Governor Mills criticized the economic policies of former President Trump, stating, "The price of groceries has gone up tremendously... in good part because of this roller coaster ride that Trump has put our economy on."

Governor Mills highlights her achievements in fully funding public education in Maine and criticizes Linda McMahon, Secretary of Education, for undermining public education across the country.

Governor Mills emphasized her experience, saying, "I'm the only one in the race who's actually delivered progress for Maine people, expanding health care to 100,000 people in this state, fully funding education, providing free school meals in all the public schools, providing free community college, two years of community college for all recent high school grads."
