Inhumanely mistreating anyone is bad. But I would like to know specifics there. Like, are you talking about deportation? Are you talking about not letting people into our country? Because, again, countries were God's idea, laws were God's idea. Borders were God's idea.
Deportation policy was the worst recession we've had since the Great Depression, and that got more people to leave the country than anything else your government could have possibly done.
The open border is terrifying because a lot of it was sex trafficking. Kids. Fucked up.
The suggestion to deport all undocumented individuals in the U.S. is seen as extreme, and there should be a pathway to citizenship for those who have contributed to society.
The chaos in cities like Portland is unbelievable. If this was a house, I'd call protective services. It's an unfit government allowing people to live like this.
I would much prefer to see us be compassionate to immigrants. I would much rather see us take a softer hand and a path to these folks who've been here for 20 or 30 years. I'd like to see a path to them to become citizens because I think this country was built by immigrants for immigrants.
